Lake Chatuge
is a 7000 acre mountain lake that straddles the border between north Georgia and North Carolina.  The lake is
popular for recreation and is an important focal point of the surrounding areas such as Hiawassee and Hayesville.  The full
elevation of Lake Chatuge is 1928 feet above mean sea level.  Its 130 miles of shoreline have become a scenic haven for
lakefront and lake access homes.  This beautiful, clear water lake is a popular vacation spot combining fun and recreation on
the lake with gorgeous mountain views.  Our home is a short walk from Lake Chatuge where you will find a community dock for
your enjoyment.
                                  History of the Area

Western North Carolina is home to Clay County, formed in
1861.  Hayesville is the county seat of Clay County and is
known for its peaceful, picturesque environment.  Stunning
scenic mountain views flanked by the sapphire blue waters of
Lake Chatuge make Hayesville the perfect setting for
serene, peaceful evenings on a deck and a great place for
family fun in the mountains.  
This secluded, cozy mountain view home is located just minutes to
Highway 64 and "The Ridges Country Club" and High Meadows
Riding Stables. You'll enjoy meeting friendly people who want to
make your vacation stay a wonderful time.  Travel a mere one half
hour East or West on Hwy 64 if you want to visit larger shopping
areas in the towns of Franklin and Murphy.

You probably won't have enough time to visit all of the wonderful
places surrounding Hayesville, NC., but here is a list of a few fun

The Georgia Mountain Fair, Alpine Village of Helen, Nantahala
National Forest, Appalachian Trail hiking, Cherokee Indian
Reservation, and Indian Village, Harrah's Casino, white water

Hayesville is two hours North of Atlanta, just across the North
Georgia border in Western North Carolina.  You can also reach
Tennessee with a beautiful drive through The Smokey Mountain
National Forest. Or, make a day trip to the Biltmore Estate in

This home is located in a small community nestled in the heart of Shooting Creek.  It is located in the
northeast corner of Lake Chatuge.  The community has a private lake access area with a boat dock.
Hayesville, North Carolina, considered a prime
area for retirement or investment property,
features some of the most scenic mountain
views in the southeast.  Located in Clay County,
NC, and just a stone's throw from Hiawassee in
North Georgia, you can take advantage of the
many attractions of both areas.  Golf courses,
scenic hiking trails and waterfalls abound along

Lake Chatuge and enjoy fishing, boating, or jet
skiing.  A community dock is located within
walking distance.   Hayesville is bordered on the
South by Lake Chatuge, the Tusquittee
